Snældan has always been characterized by high-quality wool, Faroese production, and design inspired by traditional Faroese knitting patterns. In the image on the left, you can see the classic dark burgundy sweater with shiny buttons, available in all sizes for both adults and children.
INSIGHT INTO OUR PRODUCTION
THE CARDING MACHINE
In the first many years, the wool at Snældan was carded using hand carders, but as demand increased, an investment was made in 1968 in a mechanical carding machine. This large machine cards the wool so it is ready for spinning.
THE SPINNING MACHINE
The current spinning machine has been at the spinning mill since 1994. It spins the wool into yarn, which is then twisted and wound into skeins.
OUR COLOURS
We produce more than 20 different colours, offering a mix of natural shades and dyed yarn. We are also always ready to develop and produce new colours.
